About the role:
This is your opportunity to take ownership of a significant operational portfolio leading on-road assessing and building repair relationships to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement within one of Australia’s most respected and fastest-growing insurance groups.
You will lead a team of ~20 home assessors and 3-4 team leaders, championing a culture of excellence, proactive decision-making, and technical integrity across geographically dispersed operations.
This role is pivotal in delivering strategic uplift within a high-volume, customer-facing environment — improving claim life cycles, strengthening leadership capability, and resetting what “good” and “great” look like across the function.
You'll provide clear direction, coaching and development to your team — ensuring every member understands their role, owns their accountability and has the skills to deliver against business objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Be directly responsible for leading, coaching and developing the Onraod Home Assessing Team, driving high performance against KPIs, service standards and compliance requirements
- Act as key liaison for internal and external stakeholders, collaborating across the end-to-end Home value chain to deliver against overall business objectives
- Work closely with the Commercial Manager to vet, procure and govern supplier services within appropriate contractual and compliance frameworks
- Monitor, audit and manage supplier performance nationally, ensuring adequate capacity, coverage and adherence to procurement protocols and best practice standards
- Act as escalation point for complex negotiations and high-profile disputes, working closely with the Claims Operations Team
- Identify and report on key trends, risks and opportunities within the Home Assessing & Supply team and broader Building Repair industry
- Lead the team through Change Programs while maintaining strong knowledge of market developments, regulatory requirements, systems and products
- Extensive management experience, including leading teams & having accountability of business results, minimum of 5 years preferred
- Strong knowledge of the Home Assessing, Building Repair & Restoration environment and associated market practices and standards
- Strong commercial acumen and proven capability in the development and execution of strategic programs of work
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders of all levels, along with accurate report writing

Based from the Sunshine office, the role requires a strong on-site presence (approximately 80%) to drive cultural alignment and team connection. Flexibility will increase over time once stability and performance are achieved. Occasional interstate travel is expected.
