Our client is Australia’s leading integrated construction materials company, with a national footprint spanning over 350+ sites and a workforce of approximately 5,000 employees and contractors. Their operations encompass the production and supply of both traditional and recycled materials critical to major infrastructure and building projects.
We’re proud to partner with them to appoint a hands-on, Senior Program Manager - IT service Delivery. This is a high-impact Agile Program Leadership role, responsible for shaping, coordinating, and executing complex digital transformation programs that drive operational excellence and innovation across the enterprise.
Based onsite, (4 out of 5 days) you’ll lead the delivery of the IT Strategic Roadmap, overseeing a portfolio of 5–10 projects annually, (of varying complexity) with budgets typically ranging from $3M to $8M. The role involves extensive engagement with internal stakeholders and delivery partners, and requires a proven ability to manage high-value, multi-stream programs with precision and pragmatism.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Accountable and responsible for delivery of IT Strategic roadmap programs, including application consolidation, infrastructure enablement, data governance and IT network performance initiatives.
- Influence, collaborate and align internal stakeholders to achieve targeted outcomes.
- Proactively lead coach and mentor Project Managers allocated to the program of work to ensure high levels of engagement and delivery execution
- Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and challenging deadlines common to a rapidly growing company
- Lead end-to-end program delivery and manage all aspects of the program (scope, budget, time, risk, quality, integration, resources) throughout the full lifecycle of the program
- Possess a strong IT technical background and knowledge to ensure programs and projects are delivered with a pragmatism.
- Balance the technical components of the program with the business change and process components and ensures all stakeholders have a cross-program understanding of how all the sub-streams interact.
- Demonstrated experience in developing artifacts and tools to support best in class project management delivery practices
- Demonstrated track record in delivering complex business change projects within an IT context and an ability to navigate significant technical components at the same time as effectively managing the process and training dimensions affecting operations staff.
- Proven ability to build and lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations across multiple sites.
- Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and financial skills including management of program budgets (or equivalent operational P&L).
- Experience in the supply chain or an industrial sector is desirable.
- Demonstrated success in consulting, influencing and negotiating enterprise outcomes with Operational Lines of Business.
- Proven ability to enact change quickly and to make pragmatic judgment calls.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively with all organisational levels, including C-Level.
- Demonstrated success in operating in a multi sourced environment where program teams are comprised of internal staff, vendor resources and outsourced partners.
- Proven and effective business development skills, including proposal development and preparation along with strong ability to write and deliver business cases
- Ability to anticipate and identify potential problems and demonstrate a proven track record in solving complex and ambiguous issues.
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills with senior management and vendors.
