MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
- 6-8 week contract with potential for permanent role in leading agribusiness
- Audit, reconcile, and analyse cost allocations across fund and corporate entities

We have been engaged by a respected organisation in the agribusiness sector, managing a diverse portfolio of assets across Australia. They are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-8 week full-time contract, with the potential to transition to a permanent role based on performance and organisational needs. Must have strong audit, reconciliation, and data analysis skills as this project role is critical to ensuring the integrity and accuracy of time allocation between the corporate entity, trustee, and fund structures.
The successful candidate will focus on reviewing, auditing, and reconciling timesheet allocations, validating whether costs have been appropriately attributed as chargeable to funds or retained at a corporate level, and supporting the development of clear service level agreements (SLAs) to guide future allocations.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit & Reconciliation
- Audit historical timesheet allocations to ensure correct attribution between corporate, trustee, and fund accounts.
- Reconcile staff costs, fees, and rechargeables to funds against corporate accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies in cost allocations and prepare corrective recommendations.
- Support fund accounting by reviewing how recharges have flowed through to unit pricing and distributions.
- Management Accounting
- Analyse cost allocations to determine chargeable vs. non-chargeable activities.
- Provide insight into cost recovery trends across funds and corporate entities.
- Assist in ensuring reporting aligns with governance, compliance, and fund structure requirements.
- Process Improvement & SLA Development
- Work with Finance leadership (Jon and the wider team) to design functional SLAs for time/cost allocations across entities.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen controls around timesheet use and fund recharging.
- Contribute to documentation of allocation methodologies and cost attribution frameworks.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Extract, manipulate, and analyse large data sets (Excel, accounting system exports, etc.) to validate timesheet entries.
- Prepare clear reconciliation reports and summaries for senior stakeholders.
- Support external and internal audit requests with reconciled working papers.
Skills & Experience Required
- Accounting Qualification: Part or fully qualified (CA/CPA) or equivalent management accounting background.
- Experience:
- Strong experience in management accounting, reconciliations, and audit-style reviews.
- Prior exposure to funds management, unit pricing, or funds distribution highly regarded.
- Experience in project-based cost allocation or timesheet analysis desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data modelling).
- Strong financial system knowledge; ability to extract and reconcile large data sets.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving:
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and investigative mindset.
- Ability to identify anomalies and propose corrective actions.
- Communication & Stakeholder Skills:
- Clear, professional communicator able to liaise with both finance and operational staff.
- Experience working with senior managers to clarify allocation methodologies and reporting.

An attractive salary package up to $150K p.a. + super (equivalent) will be offered to the preferred candidate.
