This is your opportunity to take ownership of a significant operational portfolio leading Home Assessors and building repair relationships to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement within one of Australia’s most respected and fastest-growing insurance groups.
Reporting to the General Manager – Home Assessing, you’ll lead a team of ~30 home assessors and 3 team leaders, championing a culture of excellence, proactive decision-making, and technical integrity across geographically dispersed operations.
You'll provide clear direction, coaching and development to your team — ensuring every member understands their role, owns their accountability and has the skills to deliver against business objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Be directly responsible for leading, coaching and developing the Desktop Home Assessing Team, driving high performance against KPIs, service standards and compliance requirements
- Act as the escalation point in complex negotiations and high profi le disputes working closely with the Claims Operations Team.
- Implement and oversee OH&S regulatory frameworks to ensure risks are stringently managed
- Monitor, manage and audit tactical supplier performance to ensure that agreed Procurement protocols are executed in accordance with agreed contractual and best practice standards and generate the required cost and service delivery outcomes
- Ensure Building Repair Network usage meets targeted levels
- Closely monitor supplier capacity and capability nationally to ensure adequate geographical and volume coverage to meet customer demand
- Extensive senior management experience, including leading teams & having accountability of business results, minimum of 5 years preferred
- Strong knowledge of the Home Assessing, Building Repair & Restoration environment and associated market practices and standards
- Strong commercial acumen and proven capability in the development and execution of strategic programs of work
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders of all levels, along with accurate report writing

Based in Melbourne (Sunshine office), the role requires a strong on-site presence to drive cultural alignment and team connection. Flexibility will increase over time once stability and performance are achieved. Occasional interstate travel is expected.
