Our client is undertaking a multi-year transformation across a national, multi-site service network of 15 locations and 800+ team members. With revenues of ~$82M, a history of rapid growth, and significant growth ahead, they are strengthening their financial foundations and are seeking to appoint a Group Finance Manager to partner with the CFO, senior leaders and site operations to uplift capability, enhance performance and help design the future operating model. The Group Finance Manager will lead a team of 7.

If you're drawn to a purpose-led organisation built on kindness, compassion, integrity and transparency, this opportunity offers the chance to make a deep and visible impact. You'll join a supportive leadership team and play a key role in modernising finance, uplifting processes, implementing new systems and strengthening business partnerships.

This role suits someone who thrives in change, someone who enjoys "building the plane while flying it," solving problems, bringing people on the journey and creating structure in a high-growth service environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Lead, Coach & Uplift the Finance Function
  • Mentor and guide finance team members, rebuilding capability and structure following recent vacancies.
  • Create clarity around roles, accountability, workflow and operating rhythm.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture built on accountability and continuous improvement.
Strengthen Financial Reporting & Governance
  • Oversee monthly results, financial statements, statutory reporting and audit readiness.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, timeliness and compliance with AAS, tax and audit standards.
  • Manage cash flow, debtor oversight and treasury movements across multiple entities.
Drive Process, System & Technology Enablement
  • Redesign workflows, reduce manual handling, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Lead finance’s role in ERP/EPM improvements and future ERP replacement business case with Xero as the current system.
  • Champion automation, data insights, emerging technologies and digital uplift.
Partner with the Business
  • Work closely with hospital leaders to improve financial literacy, budgeting, forecasting and cost management.
  • Provide meaningful insights that help leaders understand drivers, levers and performance trends.
  • Build trust, influence decisions and help standardise practices across our national network.
Support Strategic Finance & Transformation
  • Contribute to pricing projects, budgeting transformation, payroll review and financial modelling.
  • Build and maintain reporting frameworks within Anaplan.
  • Play a key role in the upcoming organisation-wide transformation and 10-year growth planning.
What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)
  • Finance reporting becomes timely, accurate and reliable.

  • Significant reduction in manual processes and visible lift in process maturity.
  • Improved partnering across hospitals and support functions.
  • A compelling ERP business case has been developed and progressed.
  • Strong stewardship of the finance function—owning BAU, resolving operational issues early, and freeing the CFO to focus on strategic priorities, transformation and growth.
What you will bring:
  • CA/CPA qualifications, with 7+ years in financial management roles.
  • Experience leading finance teams and uplifting capability.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and identifying betters’ ways of working.
  • A preference to lead collaboratively, as you inspire and engage the hearts and minds of your team
  • Strong technical grounding in accounting, audit, tax and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and multi-entity financials.
  • Experience improving financial processes, systems and controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in medium-large, complex service-based organisations.
  • Strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement and communication ability.
  • Comfort operating in both BAU + transformation simultaneously.
  • Pragmatic, solutions-focused and grounded.
  • Able to operate in ambiguity with a builder’s mindset.
  • Tenacious, resilient and ready to take people on the journey.
  • Kind, values-led and capable of balancing firmness with empathy.

The nice to haves include:
  • Experience leading the finance function of a multi-site services organisation, potentially  encompassing any of the following sectors:  healthcare or veterinary or clinics or hospitals.
  • Exposure to ERP/EPM implementation, data analytics, automation or AI-enabled finance tools.
  • Experience supporting pricing, costing or profitability uplift projects.
So what’s in it for you?
  • Competitive salary up to ~$170k base + super
  • Hybrid working (three days office / two days WFH)
  • A people-first culture with genuine values
  • Opportunity to shape an organisation undergoing purposeful change
  • A supportive CFO who values collaboration, growth and professional development
  • Exposure to major transformation initiatives, systems uplift and organisational strategy
