The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Assets & Capital Projects team based in Berrima, NSW. Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering a variety projects across business units.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to major capital projects, from feasibility studies and design through to project execution and commissioning. Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you will help drive innovation, safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to feasibility studies, engineering investigations, and capital project development.
  • Prepare technical specifications, RFQs, tender evaluations, and supplier assessments.
  • Develop and review electrical designs, including cable schedules, schematic diagrams, equipment layouts, and general arrangements.
  • Support Project Managers with technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage electrical design activities for small to medium-sized capital projects.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project costs, schedules, and technical performance.
  • Conduct site investigations and define project requirements in collaboration with operational teams.
  • Review and approve contractor submissions and technical documentation.
  • Supervise electrical contractors and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Perform electrical calculations, equipment sizing, load assessments, and cost estimations.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and cost savings.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering standards, tools, and documentation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • A degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within heavy industrial, manufacturing, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering industrial electrical engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles and industrial plant operations.
  • Experience with PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Working knowledge of AS3000 Wiring Rules.
  • Ability to perform cable sizing and maximum demand calculations.
  • Experience preparing technical tender documentation and evaluating contractor submissions.
  • Strong project management, planning, and cost estimation capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
