The service is holistic, practical and deeply person-centred, with a strong focus on dignity, respect and long-term outcomes.

This position will suit an experienced Team Leader, Senior Practitioner or Senior Case Manager who enjoys leading people, improving practice and creating the structure needed for high-quality service delivery.

Why this role?

• $110,000 + super + salary packaging benefits
• Brisbane based

As Team Leader – Housing Support, you will provide day-to-day leadership to a team of Housing Support Practitioners delivering support to veterans and families who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness.
The program provides case management, housing support, financial hardship support and, in some cases, funded crisis accommodation. The role has a strong operational focus, including case oversight, referral allocation, quality assurance, staff supervision, stakeholder engagement, financial approvals and compliance with service delivery requirements.
This is primarily a leadership and operational oversight role, with a small caseload held as part of a broader multidisciplinary team.
The role reports to the Wellbeing Manager, Veteran Services and is accountable for leading Housing Support Practitioners within the broader wellbeing team. The position includes leadership across multiple locations, regular case reviews, monitoring caseloads, ensuring compliance, stakeholder collaboration and oversight of case plans and expenditure.

Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Lead, coach and support Housing Support Practitioners across multiple locations
• Provide supervision, case reviews and guidance on complex matters
• Review referrals and allocate work across the team
• Monitor caseloads, workload, risks and team capacity
• Support client-centred, strengths-based housing support and case management
• Review and approve case plans, financial assistance and support requests
• Ensure accurate documentation, case notes and compliance within client systems
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, community organisations, government bodies and specialist housing providers
• Support team culture, performance, engagement and professional development
• Contribute to service improvement, process development and consistent practice standards

About you
You will bring a strong combination of people leadership, case management experience and operational discipline.
You may come from housing, homelessness, community services, mental health, family support, domestic and family violence, AOD, veteran services or another complex case management environment.
You do not need to have worked in veteran services before. What matters is your ability to lead a team, work within structured service delivery requirements, manage competing priorities and support people through complex and sensitive circumstances.

You will bring:
• A degree in Human Services, Health Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related discipline
• Eligibility for registration or professional membership with a relevant body such as AASW, AHPRA or PACFA
• 2–3+ years’ experience in a Team Leader, Senior Practitioner, Senior Case Manager or similar leadership role (ideally lead a remote multi-state team)
• Strong experience in person-centred and strengths-based case management
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and motivate staff
• Strong attention to detail, documentation and compliance
• Sound judgement when working with complex or sensitive client situations
• Ability to work within policies, procedures, legislative requirements and budget parameters
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• A Queensland C Class driver’s licence
• Flexibility to travel when required

Experience in specialist homelessness services or community services will be highly regarded. An understanding of the ADF, Defence or veteran community would also be beneficial, but is not essential.

The environment
You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team that is genuinely committed to the people they support.
This is a role with heart, but it also requires structure. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a process-driven environment where case notes, compliance, financial approvals, service standards and clear communication all matter.
The best fit will be someone who can bring empathy and professionalism, while also creating consistency, accountability and confidence across the team.

If you’re looking for a role that is fulfilling, purposeful and will make a difference, please submit your application including a cover letter addressing the key accountabilities outlined above and a current resume.
