Senior Project Manager - process/manufacturing

Our client is an iconic market leader, and today they are seeking to add to their Project Management team a Senior PM, ideally with a strong technical background in operational process/manufacturing background to commence with taking responsibility for the successful delivery of a significant program of work.
Based in the Southern Highlands of NSW and reporting to the Steering Committee, this Senior Project Manager will take responsibility for the end-to-end management and delivery of a complex, grant funded, carbon reducing program of work. The role includes oversight and responsibility for building the team to deliver the program of works across multiple work fronts. This role will be supported by a highly collaborative team and will achieve significant outcomes through strong stakeholder management.
What you will bring to the role
- Proven experience in project management of prized asset infrastructure projects (complex projects up to a min of circa $10m), predominantly brownfield
- Demonstrated hands on experience leading major infrastructure projects and also leading project managers.
- Significant experience with forecasting and tracking of project expenditures.
- Experience communicating with senior management/steering committee on group activity and project status.
- PM and Mechanical Engineering experience in the construction of facilities, specifically around material processing
- Tertiary qualifications in a technical area (ideally Mechanical, Electrical or Process)
- Working knowledge of project management principles
- Ideally a working knowledge of regulatory approvals pathways as they relate to infrastructure projects in NSW.
- A strong track record in safety and Project Management delivery, ideally industrial projects such as processing facilities &/or within the mining sector.
- Demonstrated experience running multiple projects concurrently and a proven ability to maintain a detailed line of sight over schedules, budgets and build to ensure the projects are each delivered on time and on budget
- Proven ability to scope, prioritise and plan projects
- Monitor and assist in managing the delivery of vendors and subcontractor’s procurement items and services
- Demonstrated strategic thinking & problem-solving skills
- Confident stakeholder engagement and management experience at all levels across the wider organisation
- Manage contracts for successful grants, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Work closely with the Head of Finance on the grant’s liability and acquittal process.
- Maintain accurate database records related to grant funding programs and acquittals. Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement
- Prepare and submit grant reports and acquittals in accordance with contractual obligations
- Lead projects and people in line with their Leadership Model, which includes a high focus on Zero Harm Today.
- Ensure effective and efficient communication between the project team, operations, contractors, suppliers and other external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Obtain appropriate licenses and approvals from relevant authorities for execution of project as required.
- Direct and assist procurement in the development of tender requests for relevant activities to ensure the highest possible standard for tender submission, minimising costs and maximizing scope activity
- Manage the commissioning and hand over of projects to the operating team
- Lead project teams in the development of ‘fit for purpose’ design, and construction of new infrastructure assets. Manage asset project handover including operational and environmental compliance for the assets with all regulatory and best practise requirements, pollution abatement notices, Council notices etc
- Establish, monitor and review project life cycles to ensure the delivery of the projects in line with the Grant conditions.
- $200k TFR neg 12-month FTC with a strong pipeline of projects long into the future.
