Our client is a well-established Australian digital services business entering an exciting new phase of growth. As the organisation continues to expand its national footprint, it is now seeking to appoint a commercially driven National Business Development Manager to help leverage and scale an established client portfolio while building and leading a high-performing sales capability.
 
Operating successfully for more than two decades, the business brings together technology development, digital marketing and creative expertise to deliver integrated digital solutions for organisations across sectors including education, financial services and product-based industries.
 
This role presents a rare opportunity to join a respected and established business at a pivotal stage of its evolution and play a key role in shaping and scaling a national sales function that will support the next phase of growth.
 
The Opportunity
 
Working closely with the founder and leadership team, you will be responsible for developing new client relationships, expanding existing accounts and building a structured sales pipeline.
 
You will operate in a  consultative sales environment, engaging senior stakeholders to identify opportunities where integrated technology and marketing capability can drive measurable outcomes.
 
This role also offers the opportunity to  build and lead a future sales team  as the organisation continues to grow.
 
Location is flexible across Australia, with Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney representing key markets.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities and client relationships across target sectors
  • Building and maintaining relationships with CMOs, CIOs and senior business leaders
  • Conducting discovery conversations with senior decision-makers to understand client challenges and objectives
  • Positioning integrated marketing, technology and digital solutions aligned to client needs
  • Developing and managing a national pipeline of sales opportunities and commercial activity
  • Expanding opportunities within existing client relationships through cross-sell and upsell initiatives
  • Collaborating with specialist internal teams to structure tailored solutions and client proposals
  • Participating in industry networking to strengthen market presence and generate new opportunities
  • Contributing to the development of a scalable national sales function, processes and growth strategy
  • The successful candidate will initially work closely with the founder while helping build a structured and scalable sales approach to support the organisation's next phase of growth.
  • Initially operating as an individual contributor, identifying growth opportunities that enable the building of a high performing sales team
What You Will Bring: 
You will be a commercially minded business developer with experience selling  consultative, service-based solutions
 
Your background could include any of the following:
  • Marketing agency or digital agency sales experience
  • Media or advertising sales
  • Marketing technology or software sales
  • Digital transformation consulting
  • Sales leadership
You will also confidently demonstrate:
  • Strong pipeline creation and prospecting capability
  • Experience engaging senior decision-makers
  • Consultative selling and discovery capability
  • Confidence managing complex sales conversations
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • A history of success developing and leading a sales team
