About the Opportunity
A dynamic, high-growth renewable energy business is seeking an exceptional Head of Commercial & Energy Markets to join its leadership team. Based in Brisbane’s CBD, this is a rare chance to play a pivotal role in Australia’s energy transition, helping businesses navigate the shift to clean energy through innovative solar, battery and EV solutions.
This organisation is part of a well-funded group with decades of experience in the energy sector, bringing together technical depth and entrepreneurial agility to deliver transformative projects across the commercial and industrial landscape.
The Role
As Head of Commercial & Energy Markets, you will be at the forefront of shaping the commercial and financial backbone of a diverse portfolio of renewable projects. You will:
- Lead sophisticated commercial analysis and develop robust financial models to support investment decisions across solar, BESS and EV infrastructure
- Structure and negotiate PPAs and other energy contracts, balancing risk and reward
- Provide insights into energy market trends, NEM pricing dynamics and regulatory impacts
- Build risk and revenue models for merchant and contracted assets
- Drive market intelligence and trading strategies, including Virtual Power Plant analytics
- Support debt and equity capital raising to accelerate growth
- Collaborate closely with sales, solution development, project delivery and group stakeholders
About You
You will bring:
- Considerable experience in energy markets, commercial analysis, financial modelling and valuation, ideally with direct exposure to renewable energy
- A deep understanding of the NEM, renewable project finance and market regulation
- Proven capability to lead complex commercial negotiations and structure energy contracts
- Advanced modelling skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- An entrepreneurial mindset and high EQ, thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Experience in start-ups or growth-stage businesses will be highly regarded
