We are partnering with a progressive and high-growth agribusiness to recruit a visionary General Manager – Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions. This newly created and exciting opportunity will see you play a key role in shaping the organisation's farm acquisition strategy and driving long-term growth across a diverse portfolio of dairy farms in Australia and New Zealand.
This is your chance to make your mark in the senior leadership team, working closely with operations and investment teams to deliver strategic farm expansion, optimise milk supply strategies, and maximise asset performance.
Reporting to the CEO and part of the Executive Leadership Team, this role will work closely with operations and investment teams to deliver smart farm expansion, optimise milk supply strategies, and maximise asset value.
Your Impact:

  • Dairy M&A Leadership: Identify, assess, and lead strategic acquisitions of dairy farms across Australia and New Zealand to build scale and synergy.
  • Farm Strategy: Lead planning across a national portfolio of dairy operations, supporting milk yield, profitability, and market growth.
  • Partnerships: Oversee supplier and processor relationships, negotiate key input and supply contracts, and manage onboarding for new acquisitions.
  • Capital & Asset Management: Drive investment planning, including capex proposals, development strategy for new and existing farms, and operational due diligence.
  • Leadership: Lead a high-performing and strategy team, empowering regional operations managers and driving business performance.
  • Financial Modelling: Use data and financial models to evaluate investment scenarios, benchmark farm performance, and shape risk-managed plans.
What You Bring:
  • Extensive experience in agribusiness, preferably dairy, with a strong record of leading M&A or capital intensive growth strategies
  • Ability to evaluate rural assets, lead acquisition due diligence, and collaborate with farm and investment leaders
  • Executive level strategic planning and financial modelling capability
  • Strong understanding of the levers in farm performance, milk supply agreements, and supplier procurement
  • Collaborative leadership approach and a passion for sustainable, profitable farming
