Based in Milton, QLD | Covering Gympie to Tweed Heads and west to Ipswich
- Drive large-scale impact managing assets across SEQ’s key operations.
- Lead critical capital works & shape the future of concrete infrastructure.

About the Opportunity
This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior asset leader to take ownership of asset care, lifecycle management and capital delivery across a large and diverse portfolio of concrete operations. Spanning approximately 30 sites, from Gympie to Tweed Heads and west to Ipswich, this role will be central to ensuring operational reliability, safety, compliance and long-term sustainability.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a high-performing team of project engineers, supervisors, procurement and maintenance specialists. You’ll manage a rolling $5-7 million annual maintenance plan and own the five-year capital strategy, including replacing critical plant components, upgrading water treatment systems and overseeing the construction of new concrete plants.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will champion a proactive approach to maintenance and asset lifecycle management. Your focus will be on driving operational performance, optimising costs and partnering with stakeholders to ensure the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of assets across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee comprehensive maintenance planning and execution across all SEQ Concrete sites.
- Measure and monitor asset conditions and performance, and provide critical insights to support operational decisions and capital planning.
- Promote and lead a Zero Harm safety culture, ensuring all statutory, environmental and IR obligations are met.
- Partner closely with leadership teams to embed asset care initiatives aligned with broader strategic objectives.
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, drive efficiencies and deliver high-quality reporting on asset performance.
- Collaborate with capital teams to influence future asset investment and lifecycle strategies.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure asset solutions support evolving customer needs.
- Develop a deep understanding of the asset base, systems and operational nuances across multiple concrete plants and mobile fleets.
- Embed and optimise maintenance planning processes to increase reliability, manage cost and enhance operational performance.
- Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers, fostering trust and collaboration to support long-term goals.
- Expand and diversify the contractor base to secure flexible, high-quality support for both maintenance and capital works.
- Own and deliver the rolling five-year capital plan, ensuring projects are scoped, prioritised, funded and executed effectively.
- Maintain and evolve the structured maintenance program, driving upgrades and proactive asset care to meet current and future demands.
This role requires a visible, inclusive leader who is committed to developing people and managing change effectively. You will set clear expectations, build capability within the team and ensure a culture anchored in Zero Harm, accountability and continuous improvement. Your leadership style builds trust, lifts capability and inspires teams to excel in safety, performance and culture.
Expect to spend two to three days each week visiting sites, building rapport and driving alignment with strategic objectives on the ground.
You are a proven asset or maintenance leader with considerable experience in complex, multi-site operations, ideally within concrete, quarries, heavy manufacturing or similarly capital-intensive industries. You bring:
- Expertise in developing and delivering asset care and capital programs across diverse locations.
- The ability to influence, engage and develop teams, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Outstanding communication, stakeholder and contractor management skills.
- A strong record of delivering asset care and capital initiatives that lift operational performance and extend asset life.
- Demonstrated success leading safety and environmental outcomes, with a focus on proactive risk management and compliance.
- Commercial acumen to develop and control sizeable maintenance and capital budgets, always looking for efficiencies without compromising quality or safety.
- Degree qualifications in Engineering, Business or a related field are essential.
This is an opportunity to lead a large-scale, strategically significant asset portfolio, drive critical operational and capital outcomes, and be part of a business committed to excellence and continual improvement. It offers genuine scope to embed best practice and influence long-term asset strategy across a substantial regional network.
